Overview

JUnit 4.13 will be released soon. We should therefore verify that the Spring Framework build and especially the spring-test module work properly with JUnit 4.13 before it goes GA and then upgrade to 4.13 once it is officially released.

Deliverables

  • [x] Upgrade to JUnit 4.13 as soon as it is released.
  • [x] Upgrade to JUnit 4.13-beta-3 in the interim.

Update: The Spring Framework build successfully passed locally using JUnit 4.13-beta-3.

From my perspective, we can easily upgrade our master build to JUnit 4.13 beta 3 for the time being, assuming that a JUnit 4.13 GA release will be available in time for our 5.2 GA release.

Yes, JUnit 4.13 should be released well in time for Spring Framework 5.2 GA.

So I'll go ahead and perform the upgrade against master.
