This is driving me crazy.

Every now and then, pretty much every single time I try to install an application, I have to fix some issue with redis. I repeat, any software.

Today, again, sudo apt get install <some package> and it fails with:

Errors were encountered while processing:
 redis-server

Despite redis-server not beeing the software I'm trying to install.

From some wild goose chases in the past, if remember correctly, this is due to the log file beeing locked out to user that runs redis.

I fix it and the next time I need to install a package it goes full circle again, I here am I complaining about it.

I'm ditching redis in favor of rabbitmq due to this.

Hello @pedro2555

I'm sorry to hear about your sanity and best of luck with the alternative you've decided on.

For your information, the package you've installed using apt isn't a part of the Redis project - perhaps you'd want to tell this story to its maintainers (I believe that would be @lamby).

In any case, kindly close this issue since it does not belong in this repository.

@pedro2555 Yes, please close this issue and file it against the distribution you are using (eg. Ubuntu, Debian, etc etc.) You will need to prepare and provide much more information than you have done here in order for someone to diagnose and fix your particular issue.
