Redis Can the connector of redis be more efficient?

I understand that the client connector's of redis will need to be rewritten if redis connector needs to be more efficient. I'm just wondering if the overhead of redis connection can be further streamlined in future versions. I think the improvement can be 10-15% more efficient, or is this the optimum connection of redis?
