When I tried to run the CodeQL query for CWE-14, MemsetMayBeDeleted.ql, on redis, it returned the following alert in location src/sha1.c:110:5:

Call to memset may be deleted by the compiler.

And it refers to the following function:

I have run the query on redis-6.2.4. Is this a bug?

Comment From: oranagra

As far as i understand, this warning is about a theoretical risk of data leak, i.e. attempting to wipe the memory clean, but failing to do so because the compiler eliminated a call to memset. Redis doesn't have that concern, it doesn't call memset (and certainly not in this case) in order to wipe the memory to protect it from being readable later. so this warning doesn't apply to redis.
