Hello
I like Redis, but not sure if make and install is the best option to have Redis in Ubuntu. It mostly when an upgrade is need it.
Would be possible create an official repository to be used through apt for Ubuntu and get the latest and tested Redis distribution?. Same approach taken by MySQL for example.
I did realize the current repository (apt search) use a previous or minor release of Redis than the official available
Thanks for your understanding

Now there is no official APT repository. There are som personal ppa like: https://launchpad.net/~chris-lea/+archive/ubuntu/redis-server

Isn't this the Official PPA? https://launchpad.net/~redislabs/+archive/ubuntu/redis

Yes, now yes.

We now maintain a standalone APT repository (not the PPA above), which should be the preferred option because it has some benefits: * Also supports Debian distros. * Old versions are retained, whereas the PPA keeps only the latest.
See the download page for more details.

Thanks for the information - pls add that note or indication in the official documentation - if it was not already included in the download page.
