Hello Team, we see that the AOF file rewrites are getting triggered frequently before reaching the file size limit of 100%. This is our current config.

auto-aof-rewrite-percentage 100 auto-aof-rewrite-min-size 64mb aof_last_cow_size:504176640 aof_current_size:5770369649 aof_base_size:5486679840

As per my understanding, we should reach both the conditions to trigger the AOF rewrite. However our current AOF file size if 5GB and i was expecting that the next AOF rewrite should trigger when the file size is 10GB, however it gets very frequently like 3-4 times a day..

Could you please help me with my understanding..

Thank you so much for your time..

@Saggi432 which version of redis are you using? maybe the log file has some evidence, please post relevant parts. any chance the BGREWRITEAOF command is in use? (you can verify with INFO COMMANDSTATS)

we are using redis 5.0.3 as mentioned in the title of the issue. The info commandstats does not have any indication of BGREWRITEAOF being executed.. However after comparing the disk size during these times and the aof_rewrite_time_sec guage.. i do see that aof size is elastic in nature trigerring the rewrites.. however based on a given point in a day.. the size of the aof is getting changed(optimized).. that may be because of the number of entries and also with the ttl's that are configured for the key.. i am investigating further.. so far i see that this is a valid trigger happening due to the file size increase..

Please close this issue.. and thank you for your time...
