Describe the bug I am building our Spring boot application and Spring Cloud Gateway application with Spring Security, and using spring session redis to share session cross the spring boot application and spring cloud gateway. But when I try login our application, I am facing below issue. I have checked the spring source code, I found WebSessionServerRequestCache and HttpSessionRequestCache using the same session key which is "SPRING_SECURITY_SAVED_REQUEST", but the putting object is To Reproduce 1. Create a spring boot application with spring security. 2. Create a spring cloud gateway project with spring security. Define the authenticationEntryPoint(new RedirectServerAuthenticationEntryPoint("redirectForLoginUrl")) 3. Add spring-session to share session between these two application. 4. Try login, you will see this issue.

Expected behavior Spring security should avoid using the same session key for different purposes.

Thanks for reaching out @edwint229. The issue here is that the Gateway is a reactive application and the downstream application appears to be non-reactive, since it is using HttpSessionRequestCache.

You will not be able to share the session between reactive and non-reactive application, because the session types are completely different. Changing the Saved Request key will not make them compatible.
