Currently we use the unofficial spring-security-saml release 2.0.0.M31 in an open-source SAML SP-IdP Proxy. As the spring-security-saml project is in maintenance mode we are migrating to use the SAML support in spring-security. We have migrated the service-provider functionality, but the SAML Identity Provider part from spring-security-saml has not been ported to spring-security. Are there plans to do so in the future? Do pull-requests that add IdP support have any chance of being accepted?

@oharsta, thanks for reaching out about this.
We cancelled the 2.0 release of the SAML extension and haven't made any other plans to revive it here or somewhere else.
Spring Authorization Server has offered something of a model that could hypothetically be followed to add this down the road. At this time, it doesn't seem there is enough demand for a SAML 2.0 IdP like there is for an OAuth 2.0 Authorization Server to go that route, and for me that would be the determining factor.
As such, I'm going to close this ticket; however, feel free to continue posting if you feel there is more to discuss.

In hindsight, closing the issue makes it harder for folks to find and demonstrate their support. Reopening.
