I go to: http://start.spring.io/ and generate a project with dependencies: Actuator and Config Server.
After change my main class putting this annotation: @EnableConfigServer
and configure the spring.cloud.config.server.native.searchLocations
I get the following error:
Error starting Tomcat context. Exception: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException. Message: Error creating bean with name 'servletEndpointRegistrar' defined in class path resource [org/springframework/boot/actuate/autoconfigure/endpoint/web/ServletEndpointManagementContextConfiguration.class]: Bean instantiation via factory method failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Failed to instantiate [org.springframework.boot.actuate.endpoint.web.ServletEndpointRegistrar]: Factory method 'servletEndpointRegistrar' threw exception; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'healthEndpoint' defined in class path resource [org/springframework/boot/actuate/autoconfigure/health/HealthEndpointConfiguration.class]: Bean instantiation via factory method failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Failed to instantiate [org.springframework.boot.actuate.health.HealthEndpoint]: Factory method 'healthEndpoint' threw exception; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.UnsatisfiedDependencyException: Error creating bean with name 'configServerHealthIndicator' defined in class path resource [org/springframework/cloud/config/server/config/EnvironmentRepositoryConfiguration.class]: Unsatisfied dependency expressed through method 'configServerHealthIndicator' parameter 0; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.UnsatisfiedDependencyException: Error creating bean with name 'org.springframework.cloud.config.server.config.CompositeConfiguration': Unsatisfied dependency expressed through method 'setEnvironmentRepos' parameter 0; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'defaultEnvironmentRepository' defined in class path resource [org/springframework/cloud/config/server/config/DefaultRepositoryConfiguration.class]: Bean instantiation via factory method failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Failed to instantiate [org.springframework.cloud.config.server.environment.MultipleJGitEnvironmentRepository]: Factory method 'defaultEnvironmentRepository' threw exception; nested exception is java.lang.NullPointerException

When I change the spring cloud version to: Dalston.SR1 and spring boot version to: 1.5.4.RELEASE It works

Did you enable the native
profile?
http://cloud.spring.io/spring-cloud-static/Finchley.RC2/single/spring-cloud.html#_file_system_backend
Comment From: efraindx
Yes @ryanjbaxter, here is my bootstrap.properties:
server.port=9090
spring.cloud.config.server.native.searchLocations=file://${user.home}/MicroService/centralProperties/
SPRING_PROFILES_ACTIVE=native
Comment From: ryanjbaxter
I believe it should be spring.profiles.active
Comment From: efraindx
Yes you're right @ryanjbaxter, now it is working. That was the problem. Thanks.

What if I want spring cloud config server to read properties from remote GIT repository like, https://github.com/briansjavablog/micro-services-spring-cloud-config

Please open a separate issue if you are having a problem
