As a follow up of spring-projects/spring-framework#27443, we should drop support for RxJava 1.x and RxJava 2.x and only provide dependency management for RxJava 3.x.

I opened a PR with what I thought might be a solution and changes for that, but I think I should have asked first if this is something that new comers are supposed to do.

@bclozel after looking at another issue that was marked for the 3.0.x milestone I realized that I should have asked before creating the PR. I think I'll cancel the PR. Also on a side note, what would you recommend for a new comer to pick up, should I ask in Gitter?

Hey @avillalain Thanks for reaching out! It's great to get contributions from the community.
I'm sorry this wasn't clear on this issue, but we're scheduling some issues for the upcoming 3.0.x version - for now as tasks or reminders of things we need to take care of.
We usually tag issues as ideal for contribution, but I don't think we have any right now. Don't hesitate and ask the team on issues - you can take a look at enhancements for the currently maintained branches.
Thanks!

is this issue still open , I am a beginner and with some guidance would like to work on it

@shikha-varun Thanks for the offer, but we tend to use "first-timers-only" issues for this very purpose. This is really more of a task that wouldn't bring much value to you. We prefer issues where you can bring meaningful changes to the project and have fruitful interactions with the team.
