Using Spring Boot 2.6.5.
Apparently Spring fails on REST service handlers that are set to require the body in binary when the parameter uses an InputStream, and the function/handler isn't called.

If changing the type to e.g. @RequestBody byte[] data it works, but then requires us to employ a new ByteArrayInputStream(data) (which is not a big concern).
Is there an easy way to allow InputStream without the unsupported media type error?
Comment From: bclozel
I don't think that in this case you'll need the @RequestBody annotation, as explained in the Spring Framework reference documentation an InputStream controller argument is bound to the raw request body.
@RequestBody should only be used when you need conversion - for example, in this case, as a byte array or better, a Resource.
If you've got more questions, please create a new question on StackOverflow. Thanks!

Thanks. I didn't really know that. Although I can't relate how removing the annotation directly fixes the unsupported media type HTTP error.
